Biography
Ibrahim Attallihi is a media designer and researcher whose work bridges cultures, disciplines, and mediums, fusing video collage, documentary forms, and experimental aesthetics. Across film, installation, performance, and collaborative platforms, his practice engages globalization, migration, and Amazigh heritage, creating spaces where sound, image, and lived experience converge.
In Amsterdam, he is the Coordinator and Programmer of Ventilator Cinema, an autonomous cinema, workshop, and performance space at OT301, part of the Amsterdam Alternative network (2023–present). Under his curatorship, Ventilator Cinema has hosted a wide range of community-driven and experimental events, including Decolonizing Minds, Retro Palestine, the Palestinian Film Festival Amsterdam, Indigenous Screenings, and more — featuring screenings, discussions, jam sessions, and multi-disciplinary collaborations that activate cinema as both a cultural forum and collective practice.
Beyond Ventilator Cinema, Attallihi has collaborated across music, visual art, and performance. He was Creative Director for Forensics, the album by Yasiin Bey & The Alchemist, and Art Director for the Brave Poets benefit concert in London (2024), produced by Artists for Humanity. He also collaborates with Samira El Kandoussi on the controversial podcast Tussen Hshouma & Sabr, exploring challenging social and cultural topics through dialogue and storytelling.
After earning his degree in Digital Video Design at HKU (University of the Arts Utrecht), he spent several years in London building a creative network in music and film. He has worked with Roman Candle Productions on projects including Afro Punk Girl and The Arrival, contributed to Netflix series, and participated in international art fairs and museum exhibitions. His video collages and installations have been presented across Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East, reflecting a practice that is globally aware, deeply personal, and rooted in storytelling, cultural inquiry, and collaboration.
