Isle of the Dead, Redux - Van Gogh Museum

I co-directed the short documentary Isle of the Dead, Redux alongside Yafit Taranto. This film was showcased at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam on May 18, 2012, as part of the museum’s Friday evening program. The screening was held in conjunction with the exhibition Dreams of Nature: Symbolism from Van Gogh to Kandinsky, which ran from February 24 to June 17, 2012.

Isle of the Dead, Redux draws inspiration from Arnold Böcklin’s evocative painting Die Toteninsel (Isle of the Dead), a work that has captivated figures such as Freud and Lenin. The documentary delves into the painting’s profound symbolism and its enduring impact on art and culture.

In this project, Ibrahim Attallihi contributed to production, direction, and motion graphics, showcasing his multifaceted skills in visual storytelling.
